Evaluation: Ahrens is a tough minded and energetic wing with a versatile skill set. He’s a good athlete that can explode off the floor quickly and has good speed in the open court. Ahrens has range beyond the three point line when his feet are set and shoots a nice ball with very good follow through. He can attack the rim off the dribble but is still developing the handle to change direction and to see the defense. Very good finisher around the rim who can take contact in transition or on the offensive boards, where he really works hard to make an impact.
Bottom Line: Ahrens is a definite Divsion I prospect as a shooting guard with his size, shooting ability, and athleticism. As he continues to develop his handle and vision he should surface as one of the best Ohio has to offer in 2015.
