Ohio Seniors Flying Off Recruiting Boards

11 Oct

The last week has produced five commitments from Ohio players, giving everyone a little clearer picture of the recruiting scene in Ohio in 2012.

  1. Myles Hamilton– Surprised everyone on October 7th by committing to Kennesaw State. A combo guard who many thought would remain in the area, most likely landing in the MAC, Hamilton liked what he saw enough at Kennesaw to commit on his official visit.
  2. Jermaine Davis– Committed to LaSalle over Northern Illinois. The opportunity to play in the Atlantic 10, especially in a program that is accustomed to having bulky and skilled posts like Davis was too much to pass up.
  3. Seger Bonifant– Chose West Liberty, a Division II power, over several interested Division I programs. A skilled forward with strength Bonifant has the body to contribute right away at the Division II level.
  4. Josh Lemons– After rumors circulated around for 24 hrs the story was confirmed on October 11th as Lemons chose Southeastern Louisiana of the Southland Conference. The ability to play the PG spot right away, combined with style of offense being similar to his high school team’s, made Lemons choose the Lions over Morehead State.
  5. Tyler White– After many speculated that White would end up at either VCU or UNC-Wilmington he pulled a surprise move and committed to Northern Kentucky University, a Division II power in the process of becoming Division I. White’s style of play should gel perfectly with the Norse and his scoring abilities should be a real asset at the next level.
