Buckeye Prep Report- Fall Showcase Recap:

26 Sep

Rob Taylor brought in over 300 players in grades 6-11 yesterday for some great action in Columbus. Triple Double Prospects spent most of the day watching the 2013/2014 division, with some time at the 2015 division. Here are the top prospects that we saw yesterday……. Event Photos

Aaron Jackson- Our pick for MVP

2013

Aaron Jackson– Gahanna Lincoln SF: Smooth wing was as aggressive as he’s ever been attacking the basket and that paid off today as he scored at will around the rim.

Marc Loving– Toledo St. Johns SF: Always a dominant force, showed improvements in his rebounding and shotblocking as well as getting his normal points in many ways.

Jack Gibbs Westerville North PG: Dominated the game without scoring by breaking his man down and setting up teammates. As usual he hit his threes when open with consistency.

Wendell Davis– Reynoldsburg SF: Showed improving ballskills and a stronger frame.

Randle Clarkson– Columbus Brookhaven PG: Played the scorers role on his team by attacking the rim and finishing or rocking his man to sleep before pulling up for deep jumpers.

Devonte Pratt– Toledo Rogers SF: Very good athlete who missed last season.

Tyler Miller– Troy SF: Shooter had another good showcase weekend and is building his name.

Brandon Bapst– Grove City SF: Athletic wing that can run the floor and has bounce.

2014

Ronnie Williams– Columbus Brookhaven SG: If he develops his jumper he’ll be one of the state’s elite players, point blank. Great athlete that can really score in traffic.

Javon Bess– Pickerington Central SF: Continues to make the transition to PG, “JB” handled the ball well and attacked the rim with toughness all day.

Larry Moore– Cincinnati Withrow SG: Relentless slasher who really competes. Shows great speed and crossover moves. Missed last year with injury.

Tim Fleming– Fairfield PG: Under the radar scoring guard with a strong frame, tight handle, and the ability to shoot the ball.

Manny Powell– Gahanna Lincoln PG: Flashy guard continues to turn heads despite his size.

Robert Caldwell– Dayton Stivers PG: Lefty shooter with a mean crossover had a great weekend.

Nate Jameson– Columbus Northland SG: Promising scoring guard that has a nice frame and knows how to use his moves to get to the rim and finish through contact.

Alex Murphy– Licking Heights SG: Intriguing wing prospect that can really handle, pass, and slash despite not having great speed. Big frame allows him to use his body effectively.

RaChaun Martin– Dayton Thurgood Marshall PG: Talented and flashy guard who can pass the ball or use his blazing speed to get to the rim.

Jeff Larkin– Cincinnati LaSalle PG;

Blake Simpson– Cincinnati Moeller PF:

Kevin Vannatta– Upper Arlington SG:

Daylen Lanier– Dayton Ponitz SG:

Troy Mundy– Gahanna Lincoln SG:

Lindsey Hunter– Southfield Christian (MI) PG:

DeAnthony Hosley– Licking Heights SG:

2015
As our scouting focus was on the main court where the older kids were playing we did not get a chance to watch every team play at the 9th grade age group. Of the teams we did see here’s who stood out…..

Amos “AJ” Harris- Dayton Dunbar PG: The top PG in this class isn’t even up for debate. AJ is on another level both as a scorer and distributor compared to any of his peers. A human highlight reel with his flashy style he drew big crowds at every game he played.

Isaiah Jones– Cincinnati Northwest PG: Playing at his age group, which we hadn’t seen in a while, Isaiah was able to break his man down so easily with the dribble and score. His control of the game and ability to run a team was also on display.

Reggie Mack– Cincinnati Taft PG/SG

Christopher Landrum– Dayton Northmont SG

Chris McClure– Dayton Christian PG

Noah Bramlage– Ottawa Glandorf PF
