Evaluation: Avery is a tough point guard with a strong build and good athleticism. While his shot needs to continue to show improvement, he does a great job of getting to the basket and finishing through contact. He also gets his shot off in the lane very well. He has a great handle and plays with good pace. On the defensive end, he’s good both on the ball and off the ball knowing how to use his strong body.
Bottom Line: Avery has a lot of upside. Considering the fact that he’s a true gym-rat who loves to play the game, expect him to continue to improve.
Notes: Low-majors should start showing some interest.
