Evaluation: Big time talent at the point Tyonte can really make plays off the dribble. Premiere ballhandler that pounds the ball hard into the floor and has killer crossover moves to match his great quickness there are few, if any, defenders that can stay in front of him. Elite court vision in the open court that makes his teammates better, although he can be turnover prone. High volume scorer that knows how to finish around the rim and is adept at creating mid-range shots for himself off the bounce. Vastly improving shooter with decent mechanics that should become very consistent with a little more work. Passionate competitor that loves big moments and should mature into a top prospect.
Bottom Line: Production this season could very well lead to high major offers as Tyonte is a true talent at the point. Very competitive and focused guard that just needs to learn how to stay in control all the time to become elite.
Notes: Ranked by many scouting services as a top ten PG prospect in the nation in 2014 and by almost all reports as Ohio’s most talented prospect in his class. Transferred from Aiken (Cincinnati, OH) to Withrow after his freshman year. James Madison and Tulane were the first two to offer while Wisconsin, Tennessee, Xavier, Cincinnati, Ohio State, and many more high majors have expressed interest.
