Evaluation: Strong, tough, and very physical forward who is high energy and high level rebounder that can block some shots as well. Nigel is an intimidator that is best in the post, although coaches are working hard to develop his wing skills. Quick leaper off the floor with long arms and explosive power he is a top athlete for his size. Offensively he is still in development stages as his stroke needs refinement and needs to work on some go-to post moves. Is a strong finisher around the rim with his power, love of physicality, and explosiveness.
Bottom Line: Hayes is a high major athlete and tough competitor that can play at the high major level if he can find a true position and continue to improve his offensive game.
