Jack Gibbs

25 Aug

Name: Jack Gibbs

Height: 6’0
Weight: 175

Position: Point Guard

School: Westerville North
Hometown: Columbus, OH

AAU: King James
Class: 2013

Evaluation: Hardwood warrior who really enjoys competing against top competition Jack is a dual threat PG with great court vision in transition that can also score the ball. A tenacious defender with a strong build and really quick feet he gets the ball off a steal or outlet and is down the court in only three dribbles; from there he can take it to the rack and finish strong through contact or find a teammate with a perfect pass for an open shot. A pure shooter with a nice release off the pull-up or deep range when spotting up he can get hot after only one make and plays with real confidence.

Bottom Line: Ohio’s top pure PG in 2013 is a great leader and competitor who can run a team mistake free and give you huge scoring numbers. A great defender as well Gibbs is only limited by his smaller stature, a solid mid-major recruit who will succeed in any winning program and might have someone high major take a shot at him.

Notes: Committed to Davidson in late October of 2012.

[…] Jack Gibbs- Westerville North- The 6’0 PG was the MVP and took home a championship trophy as well. Gibbs is a flat out winner that used his basketball IQ to set up his teammates and make all the gears work together for his Columbus squad. His first step quickness is elite and his understanding of how to attack poor defensive rotations allows him to score right at the rim despite a lack of height. […]
