Paul Woodson

23 Aug

Name: Paul Woodson

Height: 6’7
Weight: 180

Position: Power Forward

School: Aiken
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH

AAU: Cincinnati Knights
Class: 2012

Evaluation: Athletic forward is emerging as a great prospect due to his tireless work ethic and energetic toughness. Paul can get off the floor at a high level but also has strength and foot speed, plus a wingspan of 6’10, to guard any spot on the court. Offensively he is in a transition phase from being a stickback/dump down scorer to a scoring threat capable of creating his own shot. Now possesses a reliable jumper out to 15 feet and enough of a handle to get in the lane and shoot over opponents. Still needs to develop some post game as he struggles to score in the lane on the first attempt, but that can be fixed with improved footwork. Strong finisher on the offensive glass that keeps the ball high and explodes up.

Bottom Line: Woodson should thrive in the Cincinnati city league due to his toughness and leaping ability. Has turned himself into a priority Division II recruit that hold a few Division I offers as well.

Notes: Transferred to Aiken from Clark Montessori for his senior season. Phenomenal athlete is former national Judo champion and was a standout dual threat quarterback at Clark as well.
