Class: 2012
Evaluation: The Ohio version of DaJuan Blair has been a dominant scorer since his elementary days thanks to his combination of size, freakish strength, and coordination. Washington can use finesse moves leading to power finishes or simply just overpower opponents to score around the rim. He also is capable of stroking the jumper out to 17 feet and can take his man off the dribble. A rebounding machine who will not be denied his points when he gets his hands on the floor “Diesel” is relentless inside and plays through contact and fouls without ever letting it effect his mental. A great competitor who is known to take over games from beginning to end he might have “play on Sundays” football potential but had as accomplished of a high school and AAU basketball career as any prospect in the country.
Bottom Line: If he was to play college basketball he would be a player that MAC coaches would go to war over, several of said he could be a conference player of the year type of talent. Washington has enjoyed one of the finest prep careers in Ohio but will be playing college football next season where he is an even greater talent.
Notes: Was named MVP of the Ohio State Championship Game in a win over Cleveland Central Catholic. Committed to play football at Ohio State for Coach Urban Meyer.
