Height: 6’1
Weight: 165
Position: Point Guard
School: Shroder
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH
AAU: Club Ohio
Class: 2012
Evaluation: Creative passer with high level speed and a good understanding of the game. Dees is a tenacious defender that uses his quickness and long arms to blanket his man and also rebounds well for his position. Offensively he really sees the floor well and while he can get reckless with the ball he has the ability to make all four of his teammates better scorers the moment that he steps on the court. Very skilled ballhandler that has a variety of moves and is effective with hesitating changes in speed in the open court or slow down game. While not a player who looks to score often he is capable of finishing at the rim when the opportunity presents itself.
Bottom Line: Colleges will always be in need of pass first point guards with highlight potential who can really defend; that is what Dees brings to the table. While he is not a good shooter from three he does not force the issue. Competitive drive and good vocal leadership skills should help him in the recruiting process.
Notes: Brother of current University of Cincinnati players Yancy Gates and Anthony McBride, son of former UAB guard Tony Dees. Is receiving some low major Division I looks with most of his interest coming from Division II schools presently.
