Geovonie McKnight

22 Aug

Name: Geovonie McKnight

Height: 6’2
Weight: 185

Position: Point Guard/Shooting Guard

School: Middletown
Hometown: Middletown, OH

AAU: All-Ohio Purple
Class: 2012

Evaluation: Athletic combo guard that can flat out make plays at the rim.  “G” is both strong and quick with the ball in his hands and has the explosive body control to finish plays through contact in the paint. A gifted passer, and former quarterback, he sees plays before they happen and is always willing to set up a teammate. What separates McKnight from many of his peers is his competitive drive, very few players can match his energy and passion for the course of a whole game. While his jumper is still his weakness it has improved and he has added balance to his solid mechanics.

Bottom Line: McKnight is undoubtedly one of Ohio’s top prospects as a combo guard who can score or pass. As his jumper develops his stock will skyrocket as he has the physical tools and mental intangibles to have a very successful career at the Division I level collegiately.

Notes: Miami (OH), Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, and Wright State are recruiting him hardest at the moment.
