Position: Small Forward
School: Dixie Heights
Hometown: Edgewood, KY
AAU: Shining Stars
Evaluation: Stansberry is a long and versatile wing/forward. He is a glue guy who also has the ability to score it when asked to do so. A decent athlete, Stansberry’s long arms make him a tough defender who can guard multiple positions. He has good instincts and timing on the defensive end which helps him get deflections and blocks. Offensively he is a face up guy who can shoot the ball well from the perimeter and has a good mid-range game. He can really make his teammates better when he puts the ball on the floor and goes to the basket where his skill allows him to pull-up, finish at the rim or find open teammates if the defense collapses.
Bottom Line: Stansberry is a very solid division-II prospect who will help someone at the next level. When he attacks the basket and doesn’t float on the perimeter he can really become an offensive weapon along with doing all the small things that makes him a good player.
Notes: Bellarmine and other division-II schools have been in to check him out.
